Our birthday experiences combine fun, animals, and humane education while helping support the dogs and cats in our care.

HSNCF Birthday Parties
Celebrate with friends while learning about—and helping—shelter animals!
Birthday parties are held in our Education Room and combine a staff-led animal experience with private time for your family’s celebration.
Recommended Ages: 5 and up

Your Humane Society party host will lead an animal-themed experience that may include:
- Welcome and introduction to HSNCF
- Animal-themed craft or game
- Humane education activity (what could that be?)
- Interaction with a shelter animal, when available

Each participating child receives an HSNCF goodie bag with fun animal-themed items.
A Little Extra for the Birthday Child
The birthday child receives a birthday button, special photo opportunity, and a personalized Junior Humane Hero Certificate presented by our team and gets to name one future shelter animal.
Add a Stuffed Animal Adoption
$75 Party Add-On (up to 10 kids – $5 additional child)
Turn your party guests into adopters! We’ll set up a miniature “adoption shelter” filled with stuffed animals. Each child gets to choose a stuffed pet to adopt and take home. Children can complete a fun adoption experience and give their new pet a name, making their stuffed animal both an activity and a special party favor.
Available for parties of up to 15 participating children.
Celebrate & Give Back
Want to make the birthday even more meaningful?
Instead of gifts, invite guests to bring food, toys, treats, or other items from the HSNCF Wish List for the animals. Birthday children who choose to give back are helping provide care and comfort to pets waiting for homes.
A special experience just for the birthday child!

Guests: Birthday child + 1–2 accompanying adults
Spend an hour getting a special behind-the-scenes look at HSNCF. The experience may include a shelter tour, meeting members of our team, learning about our animals, and special animal interactions based on availability.
The birthday child also receives a special birthday goodie bag.

Booking, Payment & Cancellation
- A $50 nonrefundable deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve your birthday party.
- The remaining balance is due 7 days before the scheduled party date.
- The deposit is nonrefundable; however, your party may be rescheduled once to another available date with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
- Additional children, up to the maximum party capacity, may be added for $10 per child and paid for at check-in.
- Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled start time for check-in and final headcount.
- Families are responsible for leaving the party space in reasonable condition. Additional charges may apply for excessive cleaning or damage to HSNCF property, equipment, or facilities.
Important Information
Animal Availability
HSNCF is a working animal shelter, and our animal population changes every day. Animal interactions are based on availability, temperament, health, and the needs of the animals in our care. Specific animals, puppies, or kittens cannot be guaranteed.
Date Availability
Birthday celebrations are subject to staff, room, and shelter availability. Submission of an inquiry does not guarantee a reservation or specific date. Our Education Team will contact you to confirm availability and finalize your booking.
Guest Count
Packages include up to 10 participating children, including the birthday child. Up to five additional children may be added for a maximum of 15 children.
Siblings
Siblings who participate in party activities must be included in the final guest count.
Adults
Because our Education Room and shelter spaces have limited capacity, we ask families to limit accompanying adults. Maximum room capacity is 25.
Food
Families are welcome to bring cake, cupcakes, pizza, snacks, and nonalcoholic beverages. Food must remain in the designated party area.
Outside Animals
For the health and safety of shelter animals, personal pets cannot attend birthday celebrations.
What to Wear
Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended. Guests should wear comfortable clothing appropriate for interacting with animals and participating in shelter activities.
Working Shelter
Please remember that HSNCF is an active animal shelter. Adopters, visitors, volunteers, staff, barking dogs, and everyday shelter activities may be present during your celebration. All guests must follow instructions from HSNCF staff and volunteers.
Setup & Cleanup
Families may access the Education Room up to 15 minutes before the scheduled party for additional setup. All personal decorations and belongings must be removed promptly following the party.
Waivers
A parent or legal guardian must complete any required participation waiver for each child before participating in animal interactions.
